03/26/03 In the third season premiere, we meet America's newest Bachelor, Andrew Firestone, heir to the Firestone empire. First, we go behind the scenes of The Bachelor, and see what it took to find Andrew. We see clips from some of the 100 finalists hoping to become the lucky man, and see the screening process for the 10 final men. We get a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse of the interviews, blood tests, and psychological evaluations necessary for the screening process. Next, we get to meet the four runners-up who almost became the Bachelor: Trent, a 31-year old lawyer who lives outside Denver, Colorado, and enjoys ice hockey and skiing; Dave, a 36-year old lawyer from Maryland, who is also a tri-athlete; Dane, a 31-year old Olympic gold-medalist beach volleyball player from Santa Monica, California; and Sean, a 31-year old from Belmar, New Jersey, who runs a Mergers & Acquisitions department for an accounting firm. We then meet all 25 women hoping to find true love with Andrew, and see them prepare to leave ther lives behind as they start their journey. Once they arrive in Los Angeles, the cameras go behind the scenes as all 25 women get ready to meet the Bachelor. We're with the girls as they first get to meet their other "limo" buddies and receive their instructions for that evening. As the girls are on their way, we finally get to meet Andrew Firestone, the youngest son of one of the most prestigious families in the United States. While Andrew inherited millions from his grandfather's tire fortune, he grew up in the current Firestone family business — Firestone Vineyards. Andrew focused on football through high-school and college, but after an injury ended dreams of a football career, Andrew graduated with a business degree from the University of San Diego. He now works as a Director of Sales for a UK based foreign exchange business, while splitting time with Firestone Enterprises. Andrew arrives and is greeted by Chris. Chris takes Andrew in for a tour of the Bachelor pad, and they sit to chat for a bit. Andrew says he's excited for this opportunity, and he likes that he's going to get to meet the women with a clean slate (none of them know who he is). We learn that he has been in love but has not had his heart broken, believes he can find love on a television show, and is most anxious to get to meet the 25 women. Andrew and Chris head out front, and the first limousine arrives as Andrew's journey begins … but that's a story for next week on The Bachelor. 04/02/03 Andrew and Chris walk out to greet the limousines as they arrive. Chris steps aside, and the introductions begin. Once the 25 ladies are inside, Andrew enters the Bachelor Pad and greets the women by asking for their names again. Andrew then spends time with each of the ladies, getting to know each one of them a little better. Andrew admits to some of the ladies that he is feeling nervous, and wasn't quite sure how to carry himself when the ladies were arriving. He also confesses to feeling like a bumbling idiot at times. The women slowly begin to figure out that he comes from a well-known family, and eventually Amy P. asks his last name, and the truth comes out. The women are all surprised to find out that this Bachelor comes from wealth. As time begins to run down, Andrew starts to spend individual time with some of the ladies, like Christina S., Elizabeth, Audree, Virginia (who felt there weren't any sparks with Andrew), Tina P., Liz, Cristina C. (who gives him a little kiss on the cheek), and Kristen (who all of the other girls watch). Tina S. takes Andrew by the hand to insure that she gets one-on-one time with Andrew, and the girls start to think they need one-on-one time to guarantee themselves a rose. The girls start to get aggressive and ask Andrew for some alone time. Cristina C. makes the observation that she's a little older than most of the girls, and the others are getting a little catty and high-schoolish. Chris breaks up the party and asks Andrew to join him in the deliberation room. Andrew tells Chris that Amber and Kristin made the strongest impressions stepping out of the limo, and Audree caught his attention when he got to know her better. Chris asks about Liz, and Andrew says he had one of the better conversations with her. Chris explains to the girls how the Rose Ceremony will run, and that they all have the freedom to reject a rose that is offered to them, if they do not think Andrew is someone they would consider marrying. He then brings Andrew out, who thanks the women for being there and tells the ladies he has to be true to himself. He then offers roses to Kirsten, Amber, Rachel, Liz, Tina P., Cristina C., Elizabeth, Amy P., Jennifer S., Anne-Michelle, Audree, Shannon, Heather, Christina S., and Tina S. 04/09/03 The remaining 15 women move into the Bachelorette's House. Chris gathers the women together, and tells them that the next phase of the dating will consist of three group dates of five women each. Liz brings in a present from Andrew and learns that she, along with Christina S., Kirstin, Tina S., and Amber, will be having a spa day in Ojai. Group Date 1 Andrew picks the ladies up, they head to the spa, and they cover themselves with mud. The girls ask him a variety of questions, and he tells them that he's never been cheated on, and has never cheated on a girlfriend. They all hose off and head outside, and as a group, they discuss their lives and their past relationships. Andrew asks Kirsten to go off alone to get a massage, and they get to know each other better; Andrew admits that she's been catching his eye all day. After the massage, the group as a whole heads into a bubble bath with champagne. Amber has a little too much to drink, and Tina eventually has to help Amber into the bathroom, where, in between the sounds of vomiting, Amber insists she's not a lush. The other girls all think Amber has made a serious mistake by not knowing her limits. When they arrive back at the house, Cristina C. grabs Andrew and takes him alone out back to tell him that she's genuinely interested in him; the other ladies are surprised at the ambush move, and aren't too happy about it. Group Date 2 The next day, Amy, Rachel, Audree, Heather and Elizabeth are escorted by Andrew to a Lakers game. They all get on a bus and head down to the stadium, where the group meets Derek Fisher and Shaq. Derek helps Andrew out by giving a special Lakers jersey to Audree, indicating that's the girl Derek likes the best. The group then goes up to one of the private suites to watch the game, and Andrew seems to focus most of his attention on Audree. After the game, the group goes down to the court to shoot some hoops, and then heads back to the house. Group Date 3 For the final date, Shannon, Cristina, Tina P., Anne-Michelle and Jennifer are picked up by Andrew, and they fly to Lake Tahoe. They head to a casino, where they are brought to a suite equipped with evening gowns for each of the ladies. Andrew jumps into a tuxedo and pours champagne for them all, then takes Jennifer aside for some one-on-one time. They talk frankly about the society that Andrew comes from, and he assures her that differences in backgrounds has no impact on him; Andrew confesses he's impressed with her honesty. The group then heads to the casino to play craps for thirty minutes, with the winner getting private time with Andrew. Cristina pulls out the win, and the other four ladies pout about it. When they are alone, Cristina tells him that she's not getting any vibes, and asks him if he's interested in her. He answers honestly, saying that he hasn't had the chance to get to know her yet, and when she asks if she's getting a rose tomorrow, he says he'd love to give her one, but doesn't want to start guessing what will happen. He confesses that he felt cornered by Cristina's approach. When they return to the group, Shannon asks Andrew for some one-on-one time, and talks about how she's being herself, and hopes to get to know him better. Andrew confesses that he was concerned with how she presented herself, that it was more like a pageant audition. Shannon confesses that she felt like she was putting herself out there, and nothing was happening; that Andrew is not the one for her. Rose Ceremony Before the Rose Ceremony, Andrew tells Tina P. that he's attracted to her, but she stresses to him that it's about more than just looks. Amber again seems to be drunk, as she keeps putting her head down to nap, and the other ladies are left to care for her. Christina S. goes off with Andrew and tells him that she thinks he's a great guy, but that she doesn't think they're compatible, and isn't going to stay for the Rose Ceremony. Leaving in the limousine, Christina says she likes a man who takes charge, and couldn't be in a romantic relationship with Andrew. The others were shocked that Christina just left without saying goodbye. Andrew goes off alone with Elizabeth, and he asks her if any of the other girls are there for the wrong reasons. She tells him that he needs to go with his gut feeling and do what's right. Chris collects Andrew and they go into the deliberation room to watch the video messages. Andrew comes back out, and thanks all the ladies. He then offers roses to Anne-Michelle, Kirsten, Jennifer S., Tina S., Audree, Heather, Cristina C., Tina P., Amber and Liz. 04/16/03 Chris calls the remaining ten women into the living room to meet Andrew's friends Kevin and Shannon, who will decide who gets one of the two individual dates, and who will go on one of the two group dates. Kevin and Shannon take the girls out back, where the questions begin: Question 1: "Which best describes what you hope to be: career woman, soccer mom, or society wife?" Anne-Michelle: A combination. Kirsten: Soccer mom. Tina P: Career woman. Question 2: "Who's marriage do you most admire?" Jennifer S.: Her grandparents. Audree: Her parents. Amber: Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Question 3: "How soon should sex take place in a relationship?" Cristina: Day one. Heather: It can wait. Anne-Michelle: When it's right for the couple. Question 4: "Would you have sex without being in love?" Liz: No. Amber: Good question. Kirsten: Yes. Tina S.: No. Tina P.: Maybe. Question 5: "Are you a seductress, or seductee?" Amber: Good question. Jennifer S.: Seductee. Tina P.: Seductress. Liz: Both. Cristina: Depends on the time of day. Question 6: "Sex on the beach, or sex in the bed?" Anne-Michelle: Beach. Tina P.: Bed. Heather: Bed. Kirsten: Beach. Liz: Bed. After the quiz, Cristina asks what Andrew's biggest quirk is, and they tell her he plays with his hair all the time. Kevin and Shannon then discuss the girls. They feel Cristina would be good in any group, and has a great personality, Anne-Michelle is good, too, Amber is the perfect physical match, Kevin thinks Tina P.'s scarf was a little much, Shannon likes Jennifer but isn't sure she's his type, Kevin thinks Liz is too much for Andrew, Shannon really liked Audree, they feel Tina S. is a female version of Andrew (which is why it wouldn't work), Heather is great but Shannon's not sure she's right for Andrew, and Kirsten's answers were perfect. After all is said and done, Shannon thinks the future Mrs. Firestone could be in the bunch, and Kevin thinks he does have enough information to pick the best one to be in an intimate relationship with Andrew. First One-On-One Date — Ice Skating The first date box comes, and it's for Amber. Kirsten confesses that she thinks if Kevin and Shannon knew that the last three times Amber was around alcohol she couldn't handle herself, they would have never given her the one-on-one date. Andrew arrives that night to pick Amber up, who isn't excited about ice skating for her date. They arrive at the rink, lace up, and stumble around the ice, but eventually get the hang of it, and Andrew even jokes about telling their kids they went ice skating for their first date. After skating, a candle-light dinner is set up for them on the ice. Andrew asks Amber if she thinks the other girls are all there for the right reason, and she says she doesn't know the answer to that. Andrew senses she isn't 100% comfortable with him, so he asks her if she can handle the situation, and Amber again says she doesn't know. For the rest of the date, they are disconnected, talking awkwardly, and sometimes having nothing to say. Andrew confesses he was expecting more from Amber, hoping she would get past her nervous energy. He says it will be difficult to pass her on at the next Rose Ceremony. Amber, however, thinks there is a vibe between them, and that she communicated well with Andrew. The two ride back in the limo and Andrew tries to kiss her, but she only offers her cheek. Andrew later confesses he was disappointed, comparing the date to being in a dentist's chair. Back at the house, Cristina finds the next date box, which is for Anne-Michelle, Liz and Cristina, who will head to an "oasis" of some sort; Liz' disappointment at not getting a one-on-one date is obvious. Cliques are starting to form, but Jennifer says everyone pretty much gets along, with the exception of Kirsten, who isn't really opening up to the group. Meanwhile, Kirsten buddies up to Kevin and Shannon, who talk about the other girls, and how Kirsten just needs to be herself. Kevin thinks Kirsten is the front runner, the one to beat. First Group Date — Moroccan Lunch and Dancing Anne-Michelle, Liz and Cristina C. The next day, Andrew picks up his three dates and takes them to a Moroccan restaurant for lunch. They arrive at the gorgeous restaurant, which is prepared with a feast for four. Everyone is very playful and flirty, which prompts Andrew to feed some lamb to Liz — a 12-year vegetarian. She handles it well, though, not wanting to let the moment pass her by. Authentic dancers then perform for the diners, and all the girls get to dance a little themselves (which Liz thought was awkward). The group then heads back with Andrew to the Bachelor Pad to hang out and get some one-on-one time. Liz tells him she thinks he's a great guy and is having a blast, but she isn't going to be all over him in these group settings. The group spends time in the hot-tub before he and Cristina head off alone. Cristina tells him she is very attracted to him — Andrew says he, too, is attracted to her. They share a very sweet kiss, before Andrew returns to the hot-tub to talk to Anne-Michelle. Andrew confesses her stock is rising, and that she's been nothing but sincere with him. They share a brief kiss and a hug before heading out of the tub. Afterwards, Anne-Michelle tells Cristina that she, too, kissed Andrew. Crisitina then finds Andrew and asks him why he kissed her, if he's kissing the others. He explains that he thought she wanted to, and that he explained the situation to her ahead of time. They then head back, finishing the date. Audree finds the third date box, and opens it up to reveal Kirsten has been invited to the second one-on-one date. The room gets silent when she gets the invitation, and none of the girls are happy she won the date. Jennifer says the consensus among the other women is that Kirsten is undeserving. Second One-On-One Date — Mystery Romance Kirsten Andrew picks Kirsten up, and brings her back to the Bachelor Pad for a game of pool. If Andrew wins, Kirsten has to give him a kiss; if Kirsten wins, she gets a present. Kirsten wins the game, and Andrew presents her with a very elegant black dress. She changes into it, Andrew puts on a suit, and they head out to Newport Beach. Andrew thinks she looks stunning, and Kirsten says she feels like a princess. They then take a chartered yacht around the bay to watch the sunset. On the yacht, he presents her with a gorgeous diamond necklace and earrings to match. They cruise the harbor, appearing very comfortable with each other. After the sun disappears behind the horizion, Andrew and Kirsten have dinner and Andrew teaches her the basics of wine. Kirsten is beginning to see herself in a very serious relationship with Andrew. They head out to the deck to dance in the moonlight, and pass another yacht that has a wedding in progress. Back in the limo, the two kiss passionately. Back at the Ladies' Villa, the women hang out at the pool, and tension is growing between Liz and Amber. Jennifer thinks Liz was jealous Amber got the date, and Amber thinks Liz has become very distant. As Liz tries to explain that she just wants to talk, Amber gets up and walks away. Liz follows, and they try to work through their friendship, but don't seem to make up the lost ground. The final datebox comes for Tina S., Audree, Tina P., Jennifer and Heather, who will be going to a farm. Kevin and Shannon toast the girls and thank them for a wonderful time. Kevin then heads out with Cristina and asks her why the other girls all had nothing nice to say about Kirsten. Cristina thinks that Kirsten is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend, and is just rebounding. Andrew and Kirsten finally return from their date, and Kirsten shows off the dress and jewels, which incenses the other women. Andrew goes outside with Shannon and Kevin to find out what's been happeining at the house, and Shannon tells Andrew about Kirsten's ex-boyfriend. Andrew says the date was so good, it could be the others are jealous of Kirsten, but he just doesn't know. Second Group Date — Country Hayride Jennifer S., Tina S., Audree, Tina P. and Heather The group heads to a farm, and first go to a mechanical bull. The girls all get the chance to ride, with the one staying on the longest winning one-on-one time with Andrew. Tina P. wins the competition, and she and Andrew head out to a carousel. Andrew tells her that his friends really liked Tina, and he asks her what she thinks about him. She tells him that she's really into him and wants to get to know him better, but that she won't say she knows him just yet. They then throw a football around and drink beer, which really impresses Andrew, especially her ability to throw a perfect spiral. They return to the others, where they sit down for a picnic. Andrew asks them what they think about Kirsten, and the response is negative. Andrew asks them about not being here to make friends, and the girls all say that while that's true, if you can't make friends in this group of ten women, something is wrong. Andrew then heads off with Tina S. for some alone time, to ask her about Kirsten's ex-boyfriend. Tina S. tells Andrew that Kirsten's made a lot of statements that caused concern. She also tells him that you never know, it could be jealousy, but he should ask himself, are these nine women the jealous type? Or is there women's intuition going on? Tina then turns the conversation to her and Andrew, as he hasn't asked her a single thing about herself. She tells him that she wants to be in the top four, as she would love for him to meet her family. He then takes Jennifer aside, and he feels very at ease with her. They all go in a hot tub for a little group Q&A about what their weddings will be like, and then head home. At the Villa, Kirsten and Amber bond, feeling the others could be jealous of their opportunity to be alone with Andrew. That evening, some of the girls talk about who they think will not get roses. Cristina reveals that Kevin and Shannon told her they picked Amber for her looks, and Kirsten because she nailed every question. The next morning, Kevin and Shannon say goodbye to all of the girls, and then head over to the Bachelor Pad to report on what they saw and share their opinions. They ask Andrew for his opinions on the girls first. Andrew talks about Cristina, who he says came on strong, then backed down. He's wondering if she's really into him, or the idea of him. Kevin tells him that he thinks she needs a one-on-one date, and that she could be one of the last ones left. They talk about Kirsten, and all three of them wonder what they are missing that the other girls are seeing. Andrew thinks Liz is nervous, and Kevin thinks Liz really likes Andrew — and that she's very emotional. They all agree Tina P. is great, that she's the funniest girl, and Kevin agrees she throws a perfect spiral. Kevin thinks she's a girl's girl, but also a guy's girl. Kevin and Shannon thought Amber was perfect from when they first saw her, but Andrew is still concerned about their last date. Rose Ceremony Andrew greets the ladies as they arrive at the Bachelor Pad. Andrew tries to spend time with everyone, starting with Tina S. He asks her if there's anything he hasn't had the opportunity for answer for her; Tina says she wants to know what he thinks Mrs. Firestone will be like. He says she will have confidence and drive, but that he's not looking down the road that far. He tells her she does interest him, and that he's not intimidated by her. Back with the group, Tina P. (who the group now refers to as "Tina Fabulous," for her penchant to always look so elegant), continues to tease Andrew with her sarcastic wit — which raises Kirsten's ire. Andrew and Tina Fabulous then head off alone, Andrew confessing that she doesn't cease to amaze him, and he's enamored with her directness and humor. He admits to her that he gets nervous around her, but only her, and Tina Fabulous thinks that's charming, but hopes he's strong enough to ask her what he needs to. Andrew proves he's up to the task, and nervously asks if he's the type of guy she could see herself with. She tells him that she loves being around him and with him. She asks if he can handle her, and he says he wants to try. Andrew finally goes off with Kirsten and asks her about the boyfriend. He tells her that Shannon had heard her ex had dropped her off at the airport. Kirsten denies that, saying her parents did. Kirsten begins to pick up that the others may be sabotaging her. She tells him that she's not into playing games, and she's not here to "win." She's here to find out if Andrew is the right guy for her. Kirsten confesses she no longer trusts any of the other ladies in the house, and she wishes she could take back everything she ever said to any of them. Andrew spends time with Jennifer next, and he tells her how comfortable he feels with her. She tells him that she wants to stay and get to know him better. He then breaks off with Audree to ask her about her Mormon religion, then takes Liz aside, who puts everything out on the table, including telling him that she can see herself in his life. Andrew then gets to spend some time with Amber, and he tells her that he feels they've had some weird times together, but that he still likes her. Amber confesses she didn't hear from Andrew what she wanted, and is convinced she's not getting a rose tonight. She then proceeds to eat everything in sight, saying she's going to get fat. Meanwhile, Andrew has gone off with Cristina, who asks if he feels butterflies when they're together, and he says yes. She then asks if she has the qualities of Mrs. Firestone and he tells her she does. Having spent time with everyone, Andrew feels certain he's going to walk away from the show with Mrs. Firestone. Chris enters and takes Andrew up to the deliberation room, where Andrew says eveything has changed. He also says six roses are not enough, but the feelings he has about the six women he's going to offer roses to overpowers the negative about having to send four women home. He goes on to say that he still hasn't found the missing piece to Amber, and that Tina Fab has been a pleasure to get to know. After watching the private video messages, Andrew comes out to start the ceremony. Andrew thanks the ladies for the patience and their openness. He tells them he's trying to base his decision on long-term compatibility, but it's also about the butterflies he's feeling in his stomach. He then offers roses to Kirsten, Jennifer S., Anne-Michelle, Liz, Tina Fabulous and Cristina C.. Tina P. confesses you can't change yourself to make someone else happy, but he still broke her heart. Audree feels like she said everything she needs to, and if he can't see past their differences, then it was never going to work. Andrew sees Amber already outside, waiting to leave, and he heads out to her. She wants to know why, and he tells her the timing just wasn't right for them. He didn't want to spend his time looking for something that wasn't there. She leaves, feeling like he never got to know her. 04/23/03 Chris brings the ladies into the living room and tells them there will be four dates this week, one group date and three intimate one-on-one dates. The criteria for winning the one-on-one dates was a personality test everyone took prior to the beginning of the show, scientifically designed to determine whose personality most matches Andrew's. One-On-One Date #1: Helicopter Ride and Spa Day Jennifer S. The first date box arrives, and it's for Jen. Andrew picks Jen up in a limousine and takes her to the airport for her first helicopter ride. After nervously boarding the chopper, they fly to Palm Springs for their spa day. At the spa they pop some champagne and talk about what they want out of the future. Andrew recognizes that she has many of the qualities he's looking for in a wife. They then share a couples' massage and continue to bond. After the sun sets, they enjoy dinner out on the lawn in their comfy robes. The conversation turns to Kirsten, and that Jen hasn't clicked with her. Andrew asks Jen if his future bride is in the group, and Jen coyly points to herself. Andrew describes the evening as the most pleasant one he's had in a while. Andrew confesses he has such good feelings about Jen. In the limo back to Malibu, they kiss passionately. One-On-One Date #2: Private Drive-In Movie Kirsten The second date box arrives, this time for Kirsten, and the other girls are instantly jealous. Kirsten admits she's nervous about some of the other girls, and wants to see if Andrew will open up with her. Andrew meets her in a '50's convertible, and they have a drive-in lunch in the car while catching up. Kirsten tells Andrew that she's very interested in him, and both are pleased that they were a scientific match, in addition to everything else. The pair then go for a drive in the classic roadster, ending up at a drive-in movie theatre. While sipping champagne in the car, they watch home movies and photos from their childhood on the big screen. They learn a lot about each other, and Andrew thinks love is definitely happening. Group Date: Tennis Cristina C., Tina Fabulous, Liz The third date box arrives, for Tina, Liz and Cristina. Inside the box is tennis equipment, and Cristina is upset, as she doesn't want to play tennis; that's not what she's looking for. Liz feels bad for Cristina, as she's ready to take it to the next level but won't have the chance for one-on-one time. Liz even offers to not go on the date, to allow her friend the chance for more time with Andrew. Before Andrew picks them up, Cristina is depressed about the date, and both Liz and Tina admit they are terrible tennis players. Andrew arrives and they head to the country club in the limousine. By the time they arrive, Cristina is feeling better, and they all change into tennis outfits. Before the girls step out to the court, Andrew meets tennis pro Tracey Austin, who he asks to help him pick who he should be paired with. The girls come out and start to play, with mixed results. Cristina gets better as the day went on, Tina has the most natural ability, and Liz has energy but no coordination. Tracey takes Andrew aside, and tells him they are all good girls; she can't help him decide. After tennis, they head to the pool, where Cristina takes Andrew aside to get some one-on-one time. She asks Andrew how he feels about her, and he says he wants to get to know her, and how she fits in his life. He confesses that she's a lot more aggressive than the other ladies. He then goes off with Liz, and he asks her where she is emotionally, and if she has anything she wants to know. Liz asks if he would ever want to kiss her, and he says he wouldn't want to force it. He then goes off with Tina Fabulous, who asks if there's anything else he needs to say to her; he tells her he's nervous about a couple of women, but she's not one of them. She then tells him she loves his watch, and tries it on. As she puts it on, she asks if she should feel threatened or jealous of any of the other girls, and he tells her no; she should have all the confidence in the world. She keeps the watch on after their one-on-one time. In the limo ride back, Cristina asks Andrew for the time, and Andrew points to Tina. Crisitina says she forgot that Tina had Andrew's watch, and Tina says "Like you didn't know." Crisitina confesses that she can't take being around Tina anymore, and Andrew starts to notice the women aren't there to make friends. Tina tells Andrew she's keeping the watch, but will give it back after the next rose ceremony. One-On-One Date #3: Fondue at the Bachelor Pad Anne-Michelle The last date box arrives for Anne-Michelle, containing a fondue kit. The next evening, Anne-Michelle arrives at the Bachelor Pad, where Andrew greets her with flowers. They indulge in the fondue, both wondering if there is a connection between them. They then change into bathing suits and jump in the hot tub. They both feel comfortable with each other, but Andrew wonders if that's enough. Rose Ceremony The women arrive at the Bachelor Pad for that evening's ceremony, and each gets one last chance to spend time with Andrew. The party starts relaxed enough, and Andrew heads off with Cristina first. He asks her why she thinks she's ready to get married to him, and she tells him he's got everything she's been looking for. She goes on to say it's not just about getting married, but finding the right person. He next separates from the group with Jen, who tells him this is much more serious than she ever thought it would be. She later confesses she'd rather leave now than stay in the game and have her heart broken later. Andrew then goes off with Tina, who he confesses he has yet to figure out, and he wants to see if she'll open up. She tells him that if he's looking for a trophy wife, she's not it. He tells her he's very interested in her and thinks he would enjoy being with her, and that's why he's grilling her so hard. He moves to kiss her, and she offers him her cheek. Back in the house, Kirsten and Jen talk about how weird it feels to be so involved at this point, but Kirsten says she's not nervous. Jen confesses if Kirsten is her biggest confirmation, then she is nervous, as they're very different people. Meanwhile, Andrew breaks away with Liz, hoping to find out if she's interested in him, or just caught up in the moment. He asks her what is it about him that makes her want to get involved with him. She tells him he has such a good personality, is so articulate, and so diverse, it impresses her. She also tells him she's glad that she feels so strongly about him. In the living room, Cristina asks Tina why she's wearing Andrew's watch at the Rose Ceremony. Tina tells her it's because she thinks it's a cool watch, and he's letting her. Cristina asks if Tina is making things "Junior High," and Tina asks her the same question right back. Andrew comes in to collect Kirsten, who he confesses he's eye-to-eye with. Alone, he tells her he brought her out to look at the skyline, and that's it; he has no questions for her. On their way back inside, Kirsten reminds him to get his watch back from Tina. Finally, Andrew gets to spend some time with Anne-Michelle. Andrew confesses that he had a great time, but there were no romantic sparks there. Anne-Michelle tells him that she had a perfect date with him. In the deliberation room, Andrew tells Chris he's had a difficult night. Up to this point, he's felt good about Kirsten, who can give him a moment of peace. He realizes now, though, that there's more than just one woman who has that kind of an effect on him. He watches the private video messages, and then heads out to the ceremony. Andrew comes out and tells the ladies that he feels vulnerable, because he's going to meet their families. He offers roses to Tina Fabulous, Kirsten, Jennifer S. and Cristina C.. Anne-Michelle is sad, but knows it wasn't meant to be. Liz is surprised, as she thought the last rose was for her. She feels like she put all of her emotions out there for Andrew, and has nothing left. As she says goodbye to him, he tells her he can't wait to hear what she's doing. 04/30/03 As Andrew packs his clothing and leaves the Bachelor Pad, he says that he is looking forward to leaving Malibu and going to each of the ladies' hometowns, where things will change emotionally and romantically. From this day forward for Andrew, it's no longer about narrowing the group down, but about finding the one for him. Meanwhile, the women are packing their bags and saying goodbye to each other. Each of the ladies are looking forward to the chance to introduce Adnrew to their families and lives, and Kirsten points out that two of the ladies have yet to be on an individual date with Andrew. First Hometown Date — Wisconsin with Tina Fabulous Andrew boards a private jet and flies to Wisconsin to meet Tina Fabulous and her family. Andrew describes this date as huge, as it's a chance to get to know Tina better and see if she is still as stand-offish and dramatic as she has been in the past. Andrew wants to see if she'll open up to him. Andrew is dropped off in the snow at a pier on a frozen lake, and Tina picks him up on a 4-wheel ATV. She tells him to hold on, and they go for a spin on the ice. They then go to a restaurant, where Tina tells Andrew that she's not playing hard to get — she is hard to get. She also tells him that she's scared, because it's the first day she's been with him alone, and she doesn't normally fall for guys this quickly. As they leave the restaurant, Tina again only lets Andrew kiss her on the cheek, and confides that she thinks Andrew is respectful of her being conservative with her kisses. Andrew confides that meeting her family is important, because if she is putting up an act, she won't be able to keep it up in front of her relatives. They arrive at her house, where he meets her dad Greg, mother Luanne, and sisters Katie and Crystal. The sisters ask Andrew what's most attractive about Tina, and he tells them that her confidence in turning the tables on him — seeing if he's good enough for her — is what is most attractive to him. Tina is happy with how dinner is going, and her parents seem to like Andrew, up until Greg asks him how long of an engagement Andrew would like to have. Andrew seems to give an answer of six months, but is fairly non-commital in his answer. Katie then has to leave to go to her first high school dance, and Andrew confides that Tina still hasn't shown very much affection. They go up to her old room and talk, and Andrew leans in and kisses her — and finally, she kisses him back. She then gives him a painting that she made for him that reads "I Want U 2 Want Me," which Andrew takes as a role-reversal; he's been looking for a sign from her this whole time. Andrew and Tina say their goodbyes to her family, and Tina confides that it's important to know if they connect physically, and now may be the time to discover that. They take a limo back to the hotel, where she tells Andrew that she's had the most perfect date. Andrew tells Tina that all of his questions and concerns have been answered, and he's just looking forward to seeing where things can go. They then kiss for a bit, and Tina confesses that she's fallen for Andrew, and is afraid that she may get her heart-broken. Fourth Hometown Date — Cleveland, Ohio with Jennifer S. Andrew arrives and meets Jen at an ice cream shop. They catch up on what they've been doing, and Andrew confides that he's nervous about Jennifer's willignness to give up her life in the Midwest up to move to California. She quickly puts his fears to rest, telling him that she's fully prepared to move out west. They take a limo to her parent's house, and on the way, they talk about who would clean up after the dog, and who would clean up after the children. They arrive at her parent's house, and Andrew meets her mother Diane, her father Dave, her brother Jason, and her sister Michelle. As they all share beers, Michelle asks if Andrew will really be ready to get married after only four weeks of dating. Andrew answers that he's thinking about what he's walking into, that he's taking things day-to-day. Over dinner, Michelle asks Jennifer about the other three women left on the show, and Jennifer says that they were all in the same boat, except "one of the four," who didn't get along with the others. Andrew points out that the goal isn't to make friends, but to find a mate. Andrew then excuses himself from the table, to allow the family to talk together. The family all seems to like him, but wonder about the other women involved. They say their goodbyes, and head back to the hotel. In the limo, Jen asks Andrew what he thought of her family, and he says he liked them; that he loved her parents, and that Michelle was doing exactly what he would want his best friend to do. Andrew asks what her parents thought of him, and Jennifer says they liked him, and could tell she liked him, too. Andrew confesses that all of his questions about Jennifer have gone away, and he can feel himself falling for her. They kiss each other good-bye, and Jen confesses she, too, can see herself falling for Andrew. The Rose Ceremony In the confessional, Andrew meets Chris and tells him it's been an amazing week. Andrew says it was a big gamble to meet Tina Fabulous' family, and that he almost didn't take it, but that he's glad he did, as he saw a side of her he never would have otherwise. Regarding Cristina, he says he learned of her attachment to her family. When Chris asks about Kirsten, he says that they get along very well, and the more time he spends with her, the easier it gets. Finally, he says that Jennifer is attractive, funny and warm, and it solidified how he feels about her. Andrew comes out to meet the four women, and the ceremony begins. Andrew says that it is going to be incredibly difficult to say goodbye to one of the women. He then offers roses to Kirsten, Tina Fabulous and Jennifer S.. Cristina says goodbye to the others, and Andrew walks her out. Andrew confesses that she was a little aggressive, and he didn't want to hurt her, but that he didn't think there was a future with her. They sit down outside, and Andrew tells her that it crushes him that he had to do this; that he was really looking for something with her, but couldn't find it. She tells him that she had no clue, and she feels really fooled. She tells him he's making a big mistake, and he tells her that maybe he is a fool, but he's following his heart. As he puts her in the limo, he tells her he's better for having met her. In the limo, Cristina breaks down, devestated by what's happened. 05/07/03 Andrew is hanging out at the Bachelor Pad, getting ready to go on the exotic overnight dates. He describes his time with Kirsten as a lot of fun, and he says that since he's spent the most time with her, he's very comfortable with her. Regarding Jen, he says he can be anywhere with her and having fun, and adds that she rounds him out, and is down-to-earth. Finally about Tina, he says he feels different with her, because she has an energy and fire that he's attracted to — and that she intrigues him. He adds that he feels he's under a lot of pressure, and is confused. First Overnight Date — Park City, Utah with Kirsten Andrew meets Kirsten and takes her to the Olympic Park to go bobsledding with Olympic Gold-Medalist Bonnie Warner. Bonnie teaches them what to do, and then takes them for an 80 MPH spin on the course. Kirsten's enjoyment of the ride impresses Andrew. They then head up the mountain for lunch, and talk about how easy things have been. Kirsten tells Andrew that she doesn't think he tells her how he feels about her, and he tells her he has very strong feelings for her. Later that night, they take a horse-drawn carriage ride through town, which Andrew confesses made him feel like the luckiest man alive. Over dinner, Andrew asks Kirsten what her biggest fear is, and she tells him it's not leaving with him. He tries to explain to her that when he's with her, he's only thinking of her, but Kirsten doesn't understand how he can have strong feelings about three women at the same time. Andrew tells her that he values her opinions on the other girls, and Kirsten goes on to tell him that she doesn't know Jen very well, and she thinks Tina has a lot of growing up to do. Kirsten confesses that she thinks Andrew is worth fighting for, and is worried about the future. Andrew wants Kirsten to enjoy the time they have together, because it's limited. Andrew then brings out the invitation to the fantasy suite, and Kirsten thinks they should definitely check it out. They head up to an incredible suite, where they settle down in front of a fire to talk and kiss. Andrew confesses he's been waiting for a moment to get intimate with Kirsten, and the fantasy suite created the perfect opportunity. Kirsten confesses that she had already decided to stay the night, and when he asks her if she wants to stay over, she immediately says yes — which pleases Andrew. They head into the bedroom for privacy for the remainder of the night. Second Overnight Date — Scottsdale, Arizona with Jennifer S. Andrew and Jen meet on a rainy Arizona day at a gorgeous resort. Because the rain has quashed the plans for the romantic outdoor date, they go to a bowling alley, where Andrew teaches Jen how to bowl. They seem to have a blast, and then head back to the resort for some spa treatments. They share a couple's clay treatment, and afterwards, they go into the shower to get the clay off. Jen was nervous at first to shower with Andrew, but it turns romantic when they share a kiss while bathing each other. As the sun sets, they go into the hot tub to talk and kiss. After freshening up, they meet for a candle-lit dinner. Andrew explains that while their bowling date may not have been romantic, she got to see what he was really like — that he's really comfortable with her, and he could just be himself with her. He tells her that he doesn't want there to be any question in her mind about how he feels when he's with her. He then presents the fantasy suite invitation, and they go to check it out. Andrew carries her piggy-back under an umbrella to the suite, and Andrew confesses seeing her smile makes him smile. They sit on the couch and kiss. He asks if she wants to stay the night, and she says yes. They then head to the bedroom and shut the door. The Rose Ceremony In the deliberation room, Chris points out that he's never seen Andrew so tense. Andrew says he can see all three of these ladies in his future, and he has to choose which two are moving in the same direction as him. He says without a doubt, he can see one of these women as his wife. Andrew says what's making this so difficult is that he is falling for more than one woman. He says he is afraid he is going to make a mistake tonight. Andrew meets the ladies and tells them he has been lucky to share this journey with each of the women. He also says he was so optimistic about what the future holds, and now that it is becoming reality, he never could have fathomed the depth of his feelings. He then offers roses to Jennifer S. and Kirsten. Andrew says he recognized qualities in Tina that astounded him, but without getting comfortable emotionally with her, it just wasn't enough. Andrew walks Tina out to talk, and he tells her he wishes they had more time. He goes on to tell her he thinks she's amazing, and if they had met at a different time, under different circumstances, it probably would have worked out. Tina admits that she is still young, and Andrew tells her that she has made this experience so special for him. As the limo pulls away, Andrew is physically upset at her lack of emotion. In the limo, Tina says she feels like a weight is off of her shoulders. She didn't want to have to say no to a rose, as being in a relationship with Andrew would have derailed her from the goals she set for herself. In her words, she doesn't think that "being barefoot and pregnant on a vineyard is fabulous." She says that the love of her life is still out there. 05/21/03 First Date With Andrew's Family — Jennifer S. Andrew relaxes at home at the Firestone Vineyard, and Jennifer is staying in a guest room at one end of the ranch. Andrew arrives to pick her up and give her a tour of the acreage. They stop off to see if Jen gets along with the animals, as she's been professing to be uncomfortable with them. Jen and Andrew enjoy the first part of the day feeding the miniature horses and alpacas. Meanwhile, Kirsten goes shopping for rings on Rodeo Drive, and Kirsten confesses that Andrew is the one for her. Kirsten says she's nervous, as she may be shopping for something she's never going to get. As she tries on rings, she giggles non-stop, contemplating her possible future with Andrew. Back at the winery, Andrew takes Jennifer to a plot of land where he one day plans to build his home. They spread out a picnic on the spot for lunch, and hoping to see if she'll open up emotionally, Andrew asks Jen if she can see herself living there one day. She tells him that she's never contemplated anything like that herself, but if she gets along with his family and things work out, then yes, she could see it. Andrew confesses he could see her living with him. Later that afternoon, the couple arrive at the family house where Jennifer meets Andrew's father Brooks, mother Kate, brother Adam, sister-in-law Kate, sister Haley, brother-in-law David, and some of the nieces and nephews. The family takes Jen out to the patio to get to know her, and the questions start. David asks about Jen's personality, and she says she is not conservative; Jen and Brooks connect when they discover they were both born in Ohio. When Adam asks about Kirsten, Jen says of all the girls, she was the least closest to her. Adam confesses he felt she dodged the question, and may be supressing her emotions on the subject. The family goes inside for a formal dinner, which surprises Jen. Andrew's mother asks Andrew what he likes about Jen, and he relates the tale of how Jen was so easy-going in Scottsdale when their romantic date was washed out by the rain. Kate confesses that Andrew was very kind and nervous when he was with Jen, as he should be; she thinks Andrew has fallen in love with Jen, which would make her happy, as everyone liked her very much. Adam then asks Jen what she thinks about the family, that she must have some reservations about the situation. Jen turns it around by saying that she is willing to answer any question they may have, and wants to know what they think about her. Brooks then tells Jen that he proposed to Kate after only two weeks of dating. The group retires to the living room for coffee, and Adam keeps the questions coming, asking Jen what scares her the most. Of course, she answers Andrew offering the final rose to Kirsten over her. He then asks Jen if she believes in fate, and she says she does. Before Andrew takes Jen back to her guest quarters, Brooks and Haley give Jen an alpaca scarf. Jen confesses she felt like she clicked with all of them, and was very happy with how things went. Andrew confesses she's set the bar very high for Kirsten. Andrew returns to the house to hear what his family thinks. Brooks says she was fun to be with, and sister-in-law Kate sys she can obviously handle Andrew, which is good. Second Date With Andrew's Family — Kirsten Andrew picks Kirsten up on horseback, and takes her for a ride across the vineyard. Kirsten takes to the vineyard naturally, and tells Andrew that she can certainly see raising children at the winery. Kirsten confesses she can't see Jen living there, as she's a city-girl who doen't like animals. Andrew then takes Kirsten to the bottling line, where she meets Adam and Kate. Andrew and Kirsten get on the line and start boxing bottles, and Adam is impressed with her energy and willingness to jump in. They then head up to the house, where Kirsten is introduced to the family. They all go and sit under a tree for the getting-to-know-you part of the evening, where Kirsten tells them about her history. They ladies go inside when it gets too cold, and bring Kirsten in to the kitchen and ask her about moving to the West Coast. Kirsten says she would have to be where ever Andrew is. The ladies seem to pick up that Andrew is smitten with Kirsten's physical beauty, but wonder about Kirsten's substance. At dinner, Adam asks how central California suits Kirsten, and she says it suits her well. When asked what her three closest friends would say about her, Kirsten says they would describe her as independent, ambitious, and is at the point in her life where she needs someone to help her with achieving her goals. She is pressed on what she is ambitious for, and Kirsten says she's not sure what direction she wants her career to go. Adam asks her what she expected from the night, and she says she wants the family to know who she really is. The family then goes into the living room for dessert, and Andrew uses the opportunity to get each one of his family members aloneand find out what they're thinking. While Andrew is out, Kirsten says her family was worried about anyone who has a lot of money, but was impressed that Andrew chose to work and go out on his own. Haley corrects Kirsten, telling her that Andrew has to work; it wasn't a choice. In the kitchen, the ladies say they'd like to have more time to get to know Kirsten, and Haley gives Andrew some of their mother's great advice: to look at which one of these ladies has the least amount of things he'd want to change, because you never can change another person. Meanwhile, Kirsten's ex-boyfriend comes up again, and she is forced to yet again explain that she has broken up with him, but that things were not totally closed off before she left to be on the show. Adam asks if things don't work out with Andrew, what would happen with her ex-boyfriend. She tells him that with this show, she has experienced so much more than she ever thought possible, she would definitely not go back to her ex-. She then says her good-byes, and Andrew takes her back to her guest quarters. Andrew meets back with his family and looks for their advice. The family says they would back him no matter what his decision, and that the final choice is his. On his way out, Adam accompanies Andrew outside, and tells Andrew about his conversation with Kirsten about the ex-boyfriend. He tells Andrew that she basically said her ex- has no idea that she's even there, and that her intention is to tell her ex- if she's the last one standing with Andrew. He questions her decision making, saying that if that's the case, things could get messy. Andrew has a hard time accepting that she told Adam this, and Adam clarifies that she's broken up with the ex-boyfriend in her mind, but that the ex- has no idea what she's up to. Andrew insists he doesn't think she'd open up to Adam like that, and Adam suggests Andrew just ask her about the situation. Andrew takes the news hard, upset with the situation. Jennifer's Final Date Back at the Bachelor Pad, Jen arrives for their final date — an evening in with each other. As Andrew makes dinner, Jennifer confesses she's not afraid of the proposal, she's afraid of not getting the proposal. Andrew asks Jen what she would do if at the end of this, they were engaged, and in two months, she has to move to San Francisco. Jen says she would be excited about it, even though it would be hard to do. Andrew tells her that if this was to work, it would require hard work from both of them. They then head to a fire to make S'Mores, and Andrew gives Jennifer a present — the basket from their picnic, filled with two robes for them to eat dinner in, just as they decided back in Palm Springs. Andrew suggests they try out the robes by going down to the hot tub, and he confesses that she may be the one. They go for a swim, and then move into the hot tub. They dry off and plop down in front of the fireplace, where they talk a little more and kiss, sharing a blanket. At the end of the night, Andrew walks her out, and they kiss and hug before she leaves. Andrew describes the date as great, but says until he gets this kind of time with Kirsten, he can't make a decision. Kirsten's Final Date Kirsten arrives, and the two drink some wine outside while Andrew tells Kirsten what his family thought. He tells her his parents really liked her, and they then head into the kitchen to cook dinner. Andrew asks her if there was any part of the night with his family that made her uncomfortable, and Kirsten tells him about Adam bringing up her ex-boyfriend. Andrew uses the opportunity to ask her about the situation. He tells her that Adam is very concerned, and asks Kirsten what the deal is. Kirsten says that the relationship was three years long, probably should have ended at a year-and-a-half, and that they still hang out and are friends. She says that he wouldn't commit, and she was not happy. She says that she needed time to sort things out, and realized that she didn't want to be with her ex-boyfriend. Andrew tells her that he had the same experience with his ex-girlfriend, and that he understands. He confesses that he got the answer he was looking for, and he thinks it's over with the ex-. They then go out to the hot tub to talk and share some quality time together. They then go in and collapse on the couch, cuddling together for the rest of the night. Andrew confesses he can indeed see her as his wife. He then walks her out to the limo and kisses her goodnight; only one day remains for Andrew to make his decision. The Final Day Andrew gets ready, and then heads out to pick out the ring for the woman he is going to propose to. Meanwhile, the ladies wake up and prepare, stunned at the idea that they could be engaged by the end of that day. Andrew makes his choice of rings, and as he writes out a check for over $48,000, he confesses his excitement over finally being able to tell his choice how much he loves her, and then give her this ring. Andrew meets Chris in the deliberation room one final time. Andrew says that he is in love with the woman he's chosen, and has been falling in love with her since he first met her. He says he's found someone who makes him happy, and he looks forward to starting a new chapter with her in his life. He says it will be difficult to say goodbye to the other woman tonight, who he has grown very close to. Andrew then shows Chris the ring he chose, a gorgeous oval shaped diamond ring, which the jewler told him signifies a larger family. Andrew then watches the last two video messages, and is ready to make his decision. The Final Rose Ceremony As it is raining heavily, the final ceremony takes place inside for the first time. Kirsten arrives first, and Chris walks her inside. Andrew takes Kirsten's hands, and tells her that from the first moment they met, he's had the greatest time with her. He tells her that she's made him feel comfortable, but this is about more than just feeling comfortable — it's about love, family and marriage. He tells her he's in love with Jen, and he wants nothing but the best for her. He tells her he wants her to know how much better he is for having met her. Kirsten takes the bad news well, and tells him that she wants him to be happy, and that's what counts. He then walks her outside, and as he tells her that some man is going to be very lucky with her, she fights to keep it together. In the limo, with the tears beginning to fall, Kirsten says she really did put herself out there, and that opening your heart opens some doors and closes others. She describes the situation as her ultimate fear coming true, and she says the thought of him with Jennifer makes her sick. With the rain turning into a deluge, Andrew waits for Jen's arrival. The limo arrives, and as Chris opens the door, Jen says she thinks she is going to be sick, she's so nervous. Chris walks her to the door, and as she enters the house, Andrew's face widens into its most dramatic smile ever. Andrew takes Jen's hands, and tells her that coming into this, he wanted to find someone special, someone he could complement, and someone who would complement him. He says he's excited — and that he loves her. She says she loves him, too, and he goes on to say he thinks they fit perfectly together, and he is looking forward to a life of adventure, happiness and family. He then takes a knee, which blows Jen away — and he proposes to her, offering her the ring, which she joyously accepts. The happiness overwhelming her, they kiss and embrace. Andrew takes the final rose and offers it to Jen, which she absolutely accepts. Jennifer says it's incredible, and a dream come true. She describes Andrew as the man of her dreams, and the night has been one of the happiest of her life. Andrew tells her even the rain is perfect, because of their Arizona experience. Andrew says that everything he pictured, hoped and imagined would happen has come true.
